by Red Axes
After a critically acclaimed LP on I’m A Cliché in 2014 and a string of quality EPs, edits and remixes left right and center, The Red Axes are back on Cosmo Vitelli’s imprint. This is the first entry in Red Axe’s Shem series on I’m A Cliché which will see the Israeli duo releasing tracks geared towards the dance floor but always retaining the one-of-a-kind approach that it distills in all its productions.
NA DA : As heady as it is elegant, this blissed-out, psychedelic track almost sounds like The Jesus & Mary Chain making techno in 2015.
BALMA (feat. Abrão) : Opening with an irresistible beat and percussion samples along with warm analog synths on lead and bassline duties, this is a track indebted to afrojazz with an unmistakable house feeling.
NU : This ecstatic cut which always gets a positive response from the dance floor is a prime example of Red Axes' ability to make club-ready tracks out of organic elements with superb results.
SPIDER FEEL : Just when you thought the EP could not get more dreamy or spaced out, Red Axes takes it up a notch with this track which brings subtle ethnic and cosmic vibes to the dance floor.
